Background of the Study
Rural electrification is a critical component of socio-economic development, providing communities with access to electricity for improved living standards and economic opportunities. Public relations (PR) plays a vital role in enhancing rural electrification projects by creating awareness, engaging stakeholders, and addressing public concerns. In Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area (LGA), Kebbi State, rural electrification projects face challenges such as resistance from local communities, lack of trust in implementing agencies, and misinformation about project benefits. According to Yusuf and Abdullahi (2023), effective PR strategies can bridge the gap between project implementers and communities, fostering collaboration and trust.
